Malakai has also made it her mission to build worlds for the next generation. Her 501(c)3 non-profit, Made In Her Image is a movement based towards social equity within film, media and technology by empowering young women and non-binary youth of colour. Made In Her Image was awarded for its work within the fields of diversity and creating a pipeline of learning and educational empowerment with the 2020 SXSW Community Service Award.
