On Wednesday 6th October, our CEO and Founder, Emily Forbes, was joined by Helen Durkin, Senior Employer Brand Program Manager at Indeed.com, Adam Sunman, Global Employer Brand at Walgreens Boots Alliance, and Joey Price, CEO of Jumpstart HR and host of the ‘Life, and Coffee’ podcast.
Our panel discussed how companies attract, retain and engage their talent has dramatically changed, and how companies’ Employer Brand has never been more visible to future and existing employees. We thought it was the perfect time to dive into the current State of Employer Brand and understand the factors that attract people to roles and engage them too.

One theme that resonated throughout the webinar is that authentic, empathetic storytelling is the key to a successful and positive Employer Brand. Helen explained that one of the biggest no-no’s is making up your Employer Brand. “Your Employer Brand exists whether you like it or not, so you need to find out what it is! Lead with your employees, not what an executive thinks your brand should be”.
Joey reminded us that one mistake smaller businesses make is assuming they don’t have a story to tell in the first place. “Just the very nature of being a small business or start-up is a story in itself”.
For now, we’ll leave you with these pearls of wisdom from Helen. “It’s important to remember that it’s one brand, one story, and one mission. That mission should always be the same; it’s just the way it’s interacted with that’s different.” We couldn’t agree more, Helen.
