Why Seenit Stellar?
22 May 2020
Wondering why it is we decided to develop Seenit Stellar? How is it different to our current product offering? 🤔
In this episode of Making Stellar, we explore what motivated us to do it, and what we had to think about. From the beginning we have had our original product, which was primarily aimed at large enterprises to enable them to crowdsource footage internally across internal communications, talent, employer brand, CSR, and a few other teams in between.
We pride ourselves on always innovating and trying to find the best way to do things, so we wanted to develop something which could be used by a wider audience as well as solve some of the issues we could see potentially providing a barrier to entry for users.
Thinking about some of the barriers to entry we could see with the enterprise product, as well as taking into consideration some of the feedback we’ve had over the years, we then worked on a proof of concept. Codenamed Olympus, we wanted to test if having an upload link instead of an app would make it easier and quicker to upload 💥
We worked on that idea with some beta customers, and we learned so much from having them test it. It seemed as though it was easier to upload, and it was a lesser barrier to entry when compared to downloading an app and registering.
Keeping all of that in mind, we used all the data we collected over the past five years, all of the customer feedback, and everything we aspired for our product to be, and developed a ‘North Star’ for us to follow. ✨
Our ‘North Star’ was a fully designed, interactive prototype how we wanted our product to look and work in 2 years time, centred around a key metric.
It was important for us to be able to share the North Star with our team, and our current and future customers. For us, seeing that prototype evolving and changing as we received more feedback and ideas was the thing which made us so passionate about Stellar. We knew our customers would be super excited about it and with their feedback we were able to make sure that product could work for them 🚀
Now that you’ve had a little bit of insight into the why and how we developed the idea for Stellar, stay tuned for the next episode of Making Stellar, where we discuss all things product research and development.
