It’s safe to say it has been a year unlike any other. It has tested our strength and resilience, and the pandemic has changed our lives completely. With the shift from offices to working from home, many people found themselves blurring the lines between personal and professional.
Although this year has been so different, some moments have still remained the same. We’ve celebrated the little moments that we can, we’ve supported each other, and we’ve tried to be there for each other. But most of all, we’ve made an effort to stay connected to everyone. Whether it’s loved ones who are far away, colleagues you now can’t see on a daily basis, or friends we couldn’t meet up with.
So how did we make that human connection this year?
Video has overwhelmingly been the main way that we’ve all kept in touch with each other (video consumption in Austria and Spain alone increased by 40%). It isn’t just consumption, the content being produced this year has increased significantly, with 70% of businesses saying they created more videos than ever in 2020.
At Seenit we have been incredibly lucky to have so much to celebrate. We’ve seen more content than ever being created using our platform through our platform.
We had 15,496 contributors this year, 58% more than last year. 75,040 uploads were collected (a 13% increase), and 1,757 stories were run, which is a 45% increase from last year.
What content did we see this year?
We have run some incredible Seenit stories this year. From documenting and sharing our working from home tips to talking openly about our mental health, we’ve spent a fair amount of time in front of the camera.
We launched our partnerships programme to help businesses of all sizes, from Beautystack’s #BringBeautyBack campaign to Appear Here’s #SaveTheStreet open letter, we also saw the success of World Employer Branding Day 2020 in connecting over 1200 Employer Branding leaders from 59 countries all over the world.
2020 was also the first year of the Seenit Storytelling Awards with 7 categories to celebrate the best examples of how our customers use their community to tell authentic and engaging stories.
Thank you to our incredible community for making the best of 2020 and creating such brilliant content. We can’t wait to see what 2021 will bring.
