Here at Seenit we truly believe that diversity and inclusivity is incredibly important, especially in the workplace. So as a Tech company who recently started hiring, when we received a disappointing number of applications for our roles from women, it got us thinking about what we could do about it. 🤔
Female representation in the Tech sector has always been historically low, with currently only 19% of all roles in tech being made up by women. Additionally, only 5% of leadership roles in this sector are held by women! Isn’t that crazy?
So why is it that women are so underrepresented in the Tech industry? According to many reports, this inequality begins in the classroom. A study by PWC which looked at the experiences of 2,000 A-Level and university students found that only 16% of females in the study had been suggested and actively encouraged to pursue a career in Tech, compared to 33% of males.
It is time to close that gender gap! We produced this video to introduce you to some of our awesome women who work at Seenit, and to explain why more women in Tech is so important to us. 🚀
One of our core values here at Seenit is to champion voices and people. So, to be a successful company and have roles which develop and expand as they need to, we need different voices.
